The problem

Hospital canteen queues were opaque. Staff and visitors had no way to know wait state without walking there, producing crowding at peak times in a clinical setting.

What I did

• Built the front-end with WebSockets so queue state stays live across wall displays and personal devices simultaneously.

Constraints

• Wall displays run unattended for long periods, with no manual refresh
• Shared state must stay consistent across device classes
